About Us
Özyeğin University aims to sustain research and teaching activities with the participation of all stakeholders, based on the core values of academic freedom and autonomy, academic honesty, respect for others, protection and strengthening of fundamental rights and freedoms, responsibility and accountability, flexibility, multidimensionality and accessibility. In order to create and sustain this environment, it is essential to develop and implement protective and preventive policies that are appropriate for individual differences, inclusive and prioritize diversity. In this context, our University respects diversity and opposes all forms of discrimination.
Protective and Preventive Activities
Özyeğin University aims to increase the awareness of university students and all members about gender inequality and all other inequalities, accepting that it is a social problem. It develops policies to combat discrimination and violence. It aims to adopt and implement the Prevention of Discrimination and Violence Policy Document to transform negative practices and approaches; to open courses and seminars on the subject for students and employees; to organize meetings and workshops; and to inform the entire society, especially university members.
An Effective Application and Resolution Mechanism
It is essential to prevent and eliminate discrimination and violence in all its aspects. In this regard, individual or institutional tolerance cannot be shown. The arrangements to be made in this area include receiving complaints about all kinds of discrimination, violence in the workplace, violence against children and animals, especially gender-based discrimination and violence, sexual harassment and sexual assault, conducting the necessary investigations urgently and diligently, and putting support mechanisms into effect.
Regular Data Recording and Reporting
AŞÖB securely records applications received in cases of discrimination and violence at the University and periodically makes anonymous reports. With these reports, it plays an active role in determining the measures and policies to be taken by the University in this area.
